Stephen Mendillo (9 October 1940–3 September 2025; age 84) was an actor who played Captain Tavek in the Star Trek: Enterprise second season episode "The Seventh".
Among his acting resume are films such as Across 110th Street (1972, with Dick Crockett), Key West (1973), Slap Shot (1977), Christmas Evil (1980, with Mark Margolis), Without a Trace (1983, with Jacqueline Brookes, Ted Sorel, Thomas Kopache, Bill Smitrovich, Freda Foh Shen, Paul Collins and Terry O'Quinn), Teachers (1984, with William Schallert and Richard J. Zobel, Jr.), Broadcast News (1987, starring Holly Hunter), Cobb (1994, with Scott Burkholder, William Utay, George Wilbur, Tom Todoroff and stunts by Tom Morga and Patricia Tallman), The First Wives Club (1996, with Stephen Collins and Timothy Olyphant), G.I. Jane (1997), The Shrink Is In (2001, starring Carol Kane, with David Bowe and Pancho Demmings), Empire Falls (2005), and Last of the Romantics (2007).
Mendillo also appeared in television series such as Serpico (1976, with David Birney), A Man Called Hawk (1989, starring Avery Brooks), Law & Order (1991-1997), Son of the Beach (2002, with Lisa Banes), Alias (2002, starring Merrin Dungey and Victor Garber, with Stephen Davies and Terry O'Quinn), and The Practice (2004, with Gary Cole).
Mendillo was married to actress Lisa Blake Richards, who appeared with Mendillo in Do Not Go Gentle (2018).
Besides his on-screen appearances he was also a stage actor.[1]
