Stephen "Steve" Christensen is an Art Director and Set Designer who worked as Assistant Art Director on 2013's Star Trek Into Darkness. According to the IMDb, Christensen will also work on the 2016 sequel Star Trek Beyond and receive credit as Art Director. His work on Into Darkness earned him an ADG Excellence in Production Design Award nomination in the category Fantasy Film in 2014 which he shared with Scott Chambliss, Ramsey Avery, James Clyne, Lauren Polizzi, Kasra Farahani, Michael E. Goldman, Harry E. Otto, Andrew E.W. Murdock, Jason Baldwin Stewart, Natasha Gerasimova, Andrea Dopaso, John Eaves, Nathan Schroeder, Ryan Church, Christopher Ross, Victor Martinez, Steven Messing, Karl Strahlendorf, John Chichester, Tex Kadonaga, Kevin Cross, Andrew Reeder, Anne Porter, Jane Wuu, Richard F. Mays, Allen Coulter, Karl Martin, Scott Schneider, Lorrie Campbell, Easton Smith, Tammy Lee, Tim Croshaw, Clint Schultz, and Karen Manthey.

Christensen received another ADG Excellence in Production Design Award nomination in 2014 in the category Period Film for his work on the drama Saving Mr. Banks which he shared with fellow Trek alumni Lauren E. Polizzi and Lorrie Campbell.

Christensen's earlier credits in the art department as construction manager include the thriller Blood and Wine (1996) and the short drama Alyson's Closet (1998) followed by the drama The Testaments: Of One Fold and One Shepherd (2000), the action thriller xXx (2002), the science fiction thriller Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003, starring Kristanna Loken), the drama The Terminal (2004, with Zoe Saldana), and the comedy Christmas with the Kranks (2004) on which he worked as art department assistant. He also worked on the sequel xXx: State of the Union (2005), the science fiction thriller The Island (2005), the thriller Munich (2005, starring Eric Bana), the comic sequel X-Men: The Last Stand (2006, with Patrick Stewart, Famke Janssen, and Kelsey Grammer), the crime thriller Take (2007), and episodes of Flight of the Conchords (2007), Entourage (2007), and Yo Gabba Gabba! (2007).

Christensen was one of the set designers on the comedy Blades of Glory (2007), the action comedy G-Force (2009), the science fiction thriller Surrogates (2009), the romance Cyrus (2010), the action comedy Knight and Day (2010), the fantasy horror film Priest (2011, with Karl Urban), and the fantasy film Immortals (2011).

As art director, Christensen worked on the television series Castle (2012, starring Penny Johnson Jerald and directed by Rob Bowman), the comic sequel Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), the comedy Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (2014), as well as on the upcoming science fiction film Tomorrowland (2015, written and produced by Damon Lindelof, music by Michael Giacchino, and production design by Scott Chambliss) and the science fiction comedy Pixels (2015).
