Steve Gausche, Jr. became the First Company Grip on Star Trek: The Next Generation beginning with the sixth season episode "Man Of The People" when the previous grip, Bob Sordal, went to work on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. When The Next Generation ended its run in 1994, Gausche moved on to Deep Space Nine while Sordal went to Star Trek: Voyager. Gausche was First Company Grip on Deep Space Nine on the third through seventh seasons. Steve Gausche was seen on the dedication plaque of the USS Valiant in the Deep Space Nine episode "Valiant". His name also appeared on an okudagram in The Next Generation's "Inheritance".
Prior to joining the crew of The Next Generation, Gausche was a key grip on Eerie, Indiana (1991-92) and on The Whereabouts of Jenny (1991, with R.D. Knox, Kris Krosskove, and William Jay Gahret). Three years after Deep Space Nine ended in 1999, Gausche became the First Company Grip on Charmed, where he remained until 2006. He worked as Key Grip on The Loop (2007).
