Captain Stiles was a 22nd century United Earth Space Service officer who, along with other members of the Stiles family, was killed in service during the Earth-Romulan War.

According to the novel Starfleet: Year One, Stiles had the first name of "Jake", while the reference book Federation: The First 150 Years calls him "Brian Stiles".
