Strnad colony was a Federation colony established in the Strnad system in 2364 with help from the USS Enterprise-D.

Shortly after the colony's founding it was threatened by the Edo God who considered all star systems in the stellar cluster of the Strnad system and the nearby Rubicun system to be under its protection.

When Captain Jean-Luc Picard asked the Edo's protector if the colony in the Strnad solar system should be removed by giving a sign, the Edo God communicated with a full illumination of their vessel before vanishing, which Picard supposed was an affirmative sign. (TNG: "Justice")
