Stuart Reed was a Human who resided in Kota Bharu, Malaysia during the 2150s.

He was married to Mary Reed, and father to Malcolm and Madeline Reed. He devoted his entire life to the Royal Navy and was an avid collector of insects, much to the dismay of his wife. (ENT: "Hatchery", "Affliction")

Stuart Reed didn't approve his son's choice to become a member of Starfleet instead of joining the Royal Navy and, as a result, the two of them hadn't spoken for several years (as of 2151). (ENT: "Silent Enemy")

Malcolm later shared with Andorian lieutenant Talas that his father was the third generation of his military family. Learning this, Talas thought that Stuart "must be disappointed in you [for] "betraying your family tradition by serving on a ship of exploration." Malcolm felt that though they had not "done much exploring for quite a while", he did admit that his father "wasn't very pleased" and that "the Royal Navy was his life." When Talas assured him that "perhaps he'd feel differently if he saw you now, fighting for the survival of your race," Malcolm concurred, "I'm sure he would." (ENT: "Proving Ground")

Stuart Reed was played by actor Guy Siner.
His name comes from the script.
