Subculture

A subculture was a minority segment of a larger people group whose members practiced their own unique customs and traditions, in addition to or as an alternative to the primary culture of their people.

Melders were considered an undesirable subculture by 22nd century Vulcans. Pa'nar Syndrome was unique to the members of this group as a direct result of their practices. (ENT: "Stigma")

While not specifically referred to as such, other subcultures could be seen in Star Trek, most notably the Hippie and punk subcultures on Earth. Sevrin's movement, and Gaia Klingons might also be an example. An alien example would be the gender-preferring faction of J'naii.
