- Charles H. Logan was a prior chief engineer on the Enterprise-D. He had served previously on the USS Bradbury. Terence Argyle and MacDougal were two other prior chief engineers. All three had been recently assassinated. It was revealed that a Zortai was slated to be the chief engineer of the ship before MacDougal got the job.
- Captain Rixx makes an appearance.
