T'Lar was a Vulcan high priestess in the 23rd century.

In 2285, at Ambassador Sarek's request, T'Lar presided over the fal-tor-pan ceremony of Sarek's son, Spock, wherein Spock's katra was transferred from Leonard McCoy to Spock's body, which had been recently rejuvenated by the Genesis effect.

Before the initiation of the ceremony, T'Lar warned both Sarek and McCoy of the great risks involved in the procedure, although both parties insisted that the attempt be made. (Star Trek III: The Search for Spock)

Background information[]

T'Lar was played by Dame Judith Anderson.

A.C. Crispin had a nitpick about T'Lar's make-up, commenting, "I found Dame Judith Anderson's lipstick too bright and her eyelashes too long [...] The fact that I noticed T'Lar's lipstick and eyelashes at all argues that they were overdone [...] One might ask why a Vulcan, whose natural skin tint tends toward the verdant, would want a bright coral mouth in the first place?" (Starlog, issue 88, p. 37)

Apocrypha[]

In the novel Vulcan's Heart, T'Lar officiates the wedding of Spock and Saavik in 2344.

According to the novelization of Star Trek V: The Final Frontier, T'Lar was the Vulcan High Priestess who assisted Amanda Grayson during Spock's birth in 2230.
