Lieutenant Talas was Commander Shran's tactical officer aboard the Imperial warship Kumari in 2153. When the Kumari was ordered to find Enterprise (NX-01), she objected and told Shran they should return to Andoria.
Talas came from a long family line of military tradition. Her mother had a higher security clearance than her, commanding an Imperial infantry unit. The last four generations of her family joined the Andorian Imperial Guard. (ENT: "Proving Ground")
