Lieutenant Talas was Commander Shran's tactical officer aboard the Imperial warship Kumari in 2153. When the Kumari was ordered to find Enterprise (NX-01), she objected and told Shran they should return to Andoria.

Talas came from a long family line of military tradition. Her mother had a higher security clearance than her, commanding an Imperial infantry unit. The last four generations of her family joined the Andorian Imperial Guard. (ENT: "Proving Ground")

Talas's family was independently wealthy, their military life style was out of a sense of duty not because of a need for funds.

Talas died in 2154 after receiving a fatal phase pistol blast from Ambassador Naarg. Shran soon challenged her killer to a fight to the death. However, Captain Archer substituted himself in Naarg's place to avoid destroying the uneasy Andorian, Human, and Tellarite alliance.
