Examples[]

We need some examples of the kill setting being used. --Brad Rousse 22:10, 17 Jul 2005 (UTC)

Comparisons[]

I came up with: As a comparison, being exposed to a spot of 4.7 to 5 megajoules is the equivalent of being exposed to the heat of about 2,500 - 2,600 degrees celsius. [1] Since the way the kill setting worked in "Regeneration" was like a welding torch so that seemed to make sense to me.

And an anon used comparisons: As a comparison, 5 megajoules is enough energy to vaporize slightly over 2.2 kilograms of water.[2]. Applied to a humanoid body of 80 kg mass composed of mostly water, 5 megajoules would raise the body temperature by an average of 15 Kelvin.

But that doesn't seem to me like the way it has been depicted in star trek. It's probably better to have these real-world comparisons in here in the talk page only and not edit war about them in the article, since none of them are really from canon or bg. --Pseudohuman (talk) 22:17, October 7, 2013 (UTC)

Possible merge?[]

Do the articles kill setting and stun setting really need their own separate articles? Wouldn't it be better merging the information into their respective weapon articles? --| TrekFan Open a channel 21:08, February 9, 2014 (UTC)

Both are large articles with lots of information. I would oppose any merges. --Pseudohuman (talk) 21:26, February 9, 2014 (UTC)
