"The crew refering to Dax as Captain under an old naval tradition is not consistent with other instances where a ship has been commanded by a lower ranking officer, such as before Sisko's promotion to Captain, and implies that this tradition is only followed during war time."

The "implication" is one fan's speculation. So, removed. Without that statement, the rest becomes nothing more than a nitpick. So, removed. --TribbleFurSuit 19:46, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

Removed uncited note

When Rom tries to sabotage the deflector array, he opens an alarmed hatch to a secure conduit. The hatch is labeled "A51: Restricted Area", in a likely nod to the "Area 51" US Air Force Flight Test Center at Groom Lake, Nevada.

I have removed the above uncited note until a source can be found. --| TrekFan Open a channel 21:05, February 2, 2018 (UTC)

Foreshadowing of Valiant?

From the Article: O'Brien's comment to Nog that "by the time you took command, there'd be nobody left to call you anything," foreshadows the Season Six episode "Valiant", in which Nog is indeed called upon to take command of a Defiant-class ship after nearly all of the crew have been killed. Is that really a foreshadowing? In Valiant, Nog doesn't take command (even though he should have). Also, there WERE people left to call him something. Not really a strong connection IMHO. – Cleanse 04:45, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

I think that it is only one thing that foreshadowed the Valiant, and that is that Ronald D. Moore wanted to name the USS Defiant Valiant. Still, the only connection I could make out from that, is that it was very possible for another Defiant-class starship to appear. This time with the name Valiant.-- Örlogskapten. There is a degree of similarity, but I certainly wouldn't call it a foreshadowing. Perhaps a brief edit to the wording? – Bertaut 16:21, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

Poisoning plot in teaser

The way it's written, it almost seems as if Kira and/or Rom composed the memorandum. --LauraCC (talk) 18:34, March 2, 2016 (UTC) Or did they just find it in a serendipitous moment and use it to best advantage?--LauraCC (talk) 18:36, March 2, 2016 (UTC)
