Rename[]

Shield neutralizer is a fan-made-up-name for this weapon based on it's function in the episode. In the script of the episode [1] this is simply called a missile:

65 EXT. SPACE - THE ENTERPRISE (OPTICAL)

The Enterprise at maximum warp. As the missile arrives

-- but instead of striking the ship, it forms a kind of

umbrella which engulfs the Enterprise.

So I suggest a rename of the article to Borg missile.

Memory Beta has an unwritten article called "Shield depletion pulse", but that too seems to be a made-up name as there is no reference mentioned. Still i would use the name from the script, instead of a fanon name. --Pseudohuman 11:57, October 15, 2010 (UTC)

Aside... those scripts are not the final shooting scripts, and they often feature lines or scenes that are not in the final episode or segments that were changed. -- sulfur 12:03, October 15, 2010 (UTC)

True, but this script says "REVISED FINAL DRAFT", also that is the description of a scene that was in the final cut of the episode. Two pictures in this article are from that scene. Also scripts are reference material and when an item is not named in an ep. the name we use is derived from reference material, not made up by fans. --Pseudohuman 15:56, October 15, 2010 (UTC)

My issue with it is that it does not appear like (as?) a missile in flight. Just called that in the script version that is available. Also, all of those scripts came on the TNG CD. They were all mentioned as "final revised draft." They still have scenes that do not make it into episodes. Does anyone have the TNG Companion so that we can see what that book calls them? -- sulfur 00:05, October 16, 2010 (UTC)

Borg cube firing shield neutralizer — Borg missile

Actually, it looks exactly like the [[::File:Ferengi missile.jpg|Ferengi missile]] seen and named as such in "The Price", seen just 14 episodes later, just coloured green. --Pseudohuman 10:21, October 16, 2010 (UTC)

Same weapon as the destructive missiles[]

Intrestingly the Borg fire missiles that look exactly the same in BoBW2 at the Mars Defense Perimeter ships destroying them. I'm not sure if I would classify them as the same weapon as the sound effect was slightly different than what it was in Q Who. --Pseudohuman 13:20, October 16, 2010 (UTC)

I don't think, its the same weapon. I think, its a pulse variant from borg beam weapon used for example in "Endgame" --Mark McWire 15:32, April 6, 2012 (UTC)
