Should I add Milan, Bergen, Rio de Janero, Kyoto, etc to the list of Earth capitals? All of those were once capitals of nations. Or to put it in a less roundabout way; I don't think Earth cities should be listed as capital cities if they were never referred to as such. Same goes for Emerald City, that fictional city got the briefest namedrop and absolutely nothing was said about it. Why non-canon info about the composition of that city is here I don't even understand. -- Capricorn (talk) 20:18, May 12, 2015 (UTC)

In my defence I was going by the "what links here" and search feature where capital city is mentioned in the individual articles. If any are incorrect, by all means remove the references. --| TrekFan Open a channel 20:20, May 12, 2015 (UTC)

Sorry to not do your due diligence for you, but given the number of problematic cities I've just cut the paragraphs wholesale. If any part of this were incorrectly removed, by all means put the specific city back. :)
removed stuff:

Buenos Aires, Berlin, Canberra, Dakar, London, Mexico City, Mogadishu, Moscow, Paris and Wellington were the capital cities of former nation-states on the planet Earth. (ENT: "Terra Prime"; TOS: "The Apple"; TNG: "The Last Outpost", "The Neutral Zone", "Evolution", "Conundrum"; DS9: "Explorers"; VOY: "Renaissance Man")
Emerald City was the capital city of the fictional Land of Oz from the 19th century Earth book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The city was known for being made largely out of emeralds, green glass and other jewels. Commander Trip Tucker compared the capital city of Coridan to Emerald City in 2151. (ENT: "Shadows of P'Jem")

No that's fine. I understand where you're coming from. If they weren't mentioned as capital cities in canon, then you have a point. --| TrekFan Open a channel 20:33, May 12, 2015 (UTC)
