Ducheau not Ducheaux[]

The Naked Time cast

Hi. There was some discussion about deleting the reference to Chapel's earlier name -- Ducheau/Ducheaux -- but it should be left, as it is interesting. I updated the article to delete the X at the end, as it was rendered in the cast list of the final draft of the script, dated June 28, 1966. The preceding unsigned comment was added by CollectingTrek (talkcontribs).

The "x" has appeared in certain other references and is valid to note. --Gvsualan (talk)

Hair colour[]

In the physical description it's mentioned her hair colour changed from blonde to brunette during her life. However the current Jess Bush version of the character appears to have grey/silver hair (and indeed some early Barrett Chapel images from TOS have a similar colouring). It could be debated that it's still a form of blonde after all (and the appearance of grey may be due to TV colouring) but I thought I'd flag it for possible updating. 23skidoo (talk) 18:44, 26 May 2022 (UTC)

The second on Spock will need to be updated, I think, given that SNW in its first couple episodes have already established that Chapel is attracted to Spock, to the point of Uhura calling Chapel his girlfriend at one point, so the dicussion about the "infatuation" developing during Kirk's mission is now outdated. 23skidoo (talk) 18:55, 26 May 2022 (UTC)

So I'm not understanding how you can edit a talk page to note the needed change, but not the article to make the needed change? --Gvsualan (talk) 19:01, 26 May 2022 (UTC)

SNW Rank[]

I notice she wears 2 thick bars on her white uniform, indicating that her rank is that of Commander. This seems unusually senior, and conflicts with what is seen onscreen in TAS where an ID card lists her as 'Lieutenant'. Incidentally, M'Benga also wears Commander's bars. ignore the stripes. Also I believe she is still a civilian. –Gvsualan (talk) 23:07, 30 May 2022 (UTC)

Minor aspect[]

I don't know if this is worth mentioning or where, but at some point Chapel apparently received a scar on her left shoulder. It's quite noticeable in the bar scene in Spock Amok, and while one can presume it's a real-life scar possessed by the actress and not make-up, it could have been covered by make-up, too so the fact it's visible becomes part of the canon of the character, much like James Doohan's missing finger is canonically part of his version of Scotty due to it being visible (or, rather not) on rare occasion. 23skidoo (talk) 05:03, 4 July 2022 (UTC)

So what? It's inconsequential and not necessarily canon until it is relevant, almost like a boom mic that appears on screen. Stephen Hawking's "conditions" aren't part of his "canon". –Gvsualan (talk) 13:21, 5 July 2022 (UTC)
