Merge with "Bajoran"[]

Would it not be better to have this article as a subsection to the "Culture and Society" -section of Bajoran? Seems more relevant in that context. And do some wiki-magic so that d'jarra search quaries ends up there...

Perhaps a caste umbrella article should be created linking to any occurences of caste-based societies in ST together. After doing a search here it seems that so far there's the Bajorans and the Romulans who have/have had such systems. (Toddas 20:09, 17 Oct 2004 (CEST))

Bump, I guess... Feeling up to contributing some again and found this in my, admittedly, modest list of contributions from last Autumn. (Toddas 23:43, 1 Feb 2005 (CET)).

Capitalized?[]

In DS9: "Accession", the word d'jarra is not capitalized when it occurs in the middle of a sentence. Here, it is. Do we know how it was written in the script? (That is, should it be treated as a proper noun, and capitalized, or as a common noun, and not capitalized except at the beginning of a sentence?) —Josiah Rowe 21:25, August 14, 2010 (UTC)

Note about Porta and Winn's d'jarra[]

I removed this point from the "Individuals" section since it's speculation and wasn't mentioned in the episode:

Since Vedek Porta and Kai Winn Adami supported Akorem's plan to restore the D'jarras, and no mention was made of removing them from office, it can be reasonably inferred that they were both members of a priestly D'jarra.

Also, I removed a point from bginfo since there was no reason for it. Family name seemed to suffice in the episode:

Since the D'jarra system had been long since abandoned in the period shown in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, the D'jarras of most Bajoran individuals is not known. Thebilldude (talk) 21:58, May 18, 2017 (UTC)

Indian caste system[]

Compare the "untouchable" Dalit caste in the Indian caste system on Earth.

I'm not sure what this note is saying exactly but if it is suggesting the d'jarra is based on the Indian system then it needs a citation or be rewritten to make sense. --| TrekFan ^{Open a channel} 10:16, March 18, 2018 (UTC)
