I think this needs to be moved to another title. First, if anything, it should be Delta-v, not "vee", because that is the proper abbreviation of velocity. Second, I'm not sure if simply "Velocity" (or some qualified version thereof) might not be the better title for this. I already suggested a merge with Velocity before finding out that that is an article about a ball game, so some disambiguation might be in order. -- Cid Highwind

The problem is that the readout names it delta-vee [1]. Also the concept of delta-vee is not about velocity only but the overall movement change. And as such it cannot be compared with a simple speed measurement. I agree, it is not a major topic, but a special topic which should be addressed in its own article. -- Kobi 11:42, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

I stand corrected. Another reason, though, to somehow make clear that something is a verbatim quote, especially if it's not exactly "standard" terminology. -- Cid Highwind 12:53, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

Not sure I follow your statement about delta-vee being about overall movement change and not just speed. Velocity is not just about speed either, it is about overall change in movement, and takes direction into account. Velocity and speed are not synonymous. --OuroborosCobra talk 02:06, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
Yes now that you mention that, I remember my theoretical physics professor stating English language has two words for the German Geschwindigkeit: speed and velocity. Maybe Cid and I were both trapped by our language. -- Kobi 10:18, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
