There is rarely a distinction made between "drinking water" and "water", see all the references to this subject at water. I removed the excess categories since this isn't the process of making water drinkable nor a biology since it isn't dehydration, for example. If we do decided to keep this here, we need to remove the beverages category from water, and fix all the water references that are about drinking to this. That seems like more work then it's worth when we can cover this just as well with a line or two at water. - Archduk3* 18:59, September 10, 2019 (UTC)

Support. Janeway was just talking about water for them to drink, nothing more. This was discussed throughout the episode and most of the time only the word water was used. -- Capricorn (talk) 19:20, September 10, 2019 (UTC)
Support. Having a separate page for "drinking water" is a bit pointless. —Josiah Rowe (talk) 19:44, September 10, 2019 (UTC)
So would that include Ground water, as well? --LauraCC (talk) 17:07, September 17, 2019 (UTC)
No. Ground water is more akin to a river or lake or rain. --Alan (talk) 04:43, November 21, 2019 (UTC)
Support. Water could probably be sub-headed better to make this and other references more clear. - AJ Halliwell (talk) 00:58, June 13, 2020 (UTC)
This has sat motionless for almost a year. I realize I'm going against the grain here, but as being a biochemist employed in the drinking water profession...I can't in good faith merge this on the simple matter of this being "just water". If we make the distinction here between ground water, fresh water, seawater, ice, snow, rain, and a body of water, which all are a different application of "just water" too, then we've set ourselves up to make the distinction here with drinking water as well, where "just water" really ought to be the mostly chemistry or general presence of article on the topic. --Alan (talk) 14:14, August 20, 2020 (UTC)
