Related to other Duras?[]

i wonder, where does this idea come from that Duras I and Duras II are at all related? --kamagurka 20:38, 29 Oct 2004 (CEST)

  • It's a presumption, it's interesting to note that Duras's Father's name in ENT is the same as Duras's Son's name in TNG/DS9 - Jono R < Forgot to sign in.

Disambig name?[]

Why isn’t the form Duras (son of Toral) used, and the equivalent for the other Duras? I know Klingons frequently refer to themselves as, say, "Worf, son of Mogh” but I thought brackets were used round here--Archer4real (talk) 09:13, October 23, 2014 (UTC)

Support renaming; I'm with me on this one--Archer4real (talk) 13:37, October 26, 2014 (UTC)

I guess this format is used because that way you don't have to disambiguate, which is cleaner. So I have to say oppose. But should this go through, then logically these pages should also be renamed: Dax, son of Kang, Doran, daughter of W'mar, and Toral, son of Duras. -- Capricorn (talk) 03:20, October 27, 2014 (UTC)

Gets my vote. Make them so, pls--Archer4real (talk) 09:53, October 27, 2014 (UTC)

Opposed. His name is "Duras, son of Toral". We use the disambig where the two names are the same. They're not in this case. -- sulfur (talk) 12:24, October 27, 2014 (UTC)

How about Krell? And Toran? And a million others come to that? The form used for both Durases is inconsistent with "disambiguation policy" as I perceive it, and a distraction to myself personally however much that counts for--Archer4real (talk) 15:53, October 27, 2014 (UTC)

Full name not required for those guys as we're using their common name. Much like Humans with names with middle initials (Kirk and Riker notwithstanding). We only add stuff when required. -- sulfur (talk) 17:10, October 27, 2014 (UTC)
