Possible rename/focus change[]

On one hand, a point can be made that a village elder is a particular function distinct of the general term of elder. But on the other hand, there's a whole bunch of mentions of just general elders, which often seems to semi-formaly signify something, though different things in different cultures/mentions. So, maybe the smarter way would be to just rename this page to elder and have all mentions of this or that type of elder nicely collected on one page. Hmm, this sounded more eloquent in my head, but anyway, thoughts? -- Capricorn (talk) 20:16, June 13, 2015 (UTC)

There is a disambiguation page already, but it only has two entries thus far. That may be due to somebody being referred to as an elder vs it being understood what they are or going by some other name. So I see your point. --LauraCC (talk) 14:38, June 15, 2015 (UTC)
Saw this ^^^^ after I said this >>>> By definition, an elder is "a leader or senior figure in a tribe or other group," so with exception of "Honored Elder", which is a slightly different title, all of these disambiguation links could and should be a singular page, returned to this namespace, while still retaining all the same info. So now merged. --Alan (talk) 19:17, March 12, 2019 (UTC)
