Mirror[]

Since we now know that the Lorca that made this statement was from the Mirror Universe, would that suggest that there was also a mirror Elon Musk? Not saying that needs an article at all, but... 31dot (talk) 21:50, January 23, 2018 (UTC)

I think it's fair to say anything he said while pretending to be his counterpart is true for the prime universe unless otherwise stated. He surely read his own file and at least a brief history of Humanity to pull his deception off. I wouldn't consider this to be a reference to a mirror Musk. - Archduk3 23:46, January 23, 2018 (UTC)

Speculation?[]

Added to the page today...

Interestingly, Musk is not himself credited with any particularly successful inventions, like the other examples given, nor is he a scientist, like Stamets. Given that the Captain Lorca in question was in fact an imposter from the mirror universe, it is possible that he was in fact referring to a mirror universe counterpart of Musk who was a well-known inventor or scientist in his own right, rather than someone who merely hired inventors and scientists.

too much "it is possible" in here -- sulfur (talk) 21:18, April 29, 2020 (UTC)

Not sure what you mean; "it is possible" is only used once. The use of bginfo for commentary about unusual contradictions in the text, and likely explanations for them, is very common across the wiki, and I'm not sure why this case is different. How would you recommend it be reworded? 50.79.5.81 21:33, April 29, 2020 (UTC)
The bginfo is all speculation, despite "it is possible" only being used once. Bginfo *should* be used to point out contradictions and real-world connections, but *shouldn't* be used to speculate. There *are* articles with speculation in the background notes, but that just means that nobody has cleaned them up yet. I know that Cleanse has been working on doing just that lately. We should present the facts (facts as presented in the Star Trek universe, that is), and let the readers do their own speculating and/or thought exercises. -- Renegade54 (talk) 02:00, April 30, 2020 (UTC)
