Disambig[]

I have found some evidence that suggests that this terminology goes back further than the Dominion war. Indirectly there are those references from TNG: "Heart of Glory" and Wesley's line about the time "before the Klingons joined the Federation", but in TNG: "The Drumhead", J'Dan states: "The blood of Klingons has become water! Since the Federation Alliance, we have become mewling babies. Romulans are strong, worthy allies. They don't turn Klingons into weaklings like you!" --Alan del Beccio 22:22, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

The Drumhead reference I have to disagree with. I don't think he was referring to something called the "Federation Alliance", but rather an "alliance" between the Federation and the Klingon Empire. This is further supported by the script, which says "Federation alliance", not "Federation Alliance", suggesting it is not a proper noun. --OuroborosCobra talk 22:26, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
First of all, I wouldn't put all my eggs in one basket when it comes to those online scripts and the assumption that they are free of grammatical or typographical errors. What I was saying was more in line with the fact that this article is confusing, notably with my above references, which actually refer to the Federation-Klingon Alliance, when in fact, it was more of a Federation-Klingon-Romulan Alliance, than simply another Federation Alliance. --Alan del Beccio 22:41, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
Shouldn't the Prophets also be listed as members of the Alliance? 65.185.148.131 08:57, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

No. They never signed a treaty, where declared an official part of it, etc. --OuroborosCobra talk 09:03, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Maybe there should be a background note about how they were just as important as the Alliance was. In the end, the Prophets were crucial to the defense of the Alpha Quadrant. If it wasn't for them, the Dominion troops from the Gamma Quadrant would have crushed the Federation, Klingons, Romulans, and the rest of the Quadrant. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 65.185.148.131.
It is possible to assist someone and not be a member or supporter of their cause. The Prophets did that to protect Bajor, not help the Federation Alliance. It would not be appropriate to say that they were members of it.--31dot 13:23, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
I hope nobody minds, but I added a disambiguation link to the Treaty of Alliance. - Mitchz95 03:59, January 11, 2012 (UTC)

Permanent[]

Yes, thought it was meant to keep the Alpha Quadrant intact in the face of a major enemy, for the sake of preserving the Alpha Quadrant perpetually and keeping a trio of stability (peace and relations between the three forces) would/did this alliance stay intact after the war ended?
