Projector[]

I think the context and descriptions are similar enough to merge the article into holographic projector. The only difference seems to be the culture that made the devices or the term being a synonym. Thebilldude (talk) 01:30, December 6, 2017 (UTC)

I'm not so sure. I think this is the, well, generator to generate the energy and holo-projectors (or emitters) create the actual holograms. From "Basics, Part I":

TORRES: All the new holo-projectors are on-line. [...]
THE DOCTOR: And we've never put such a demand on the holo-generators before.

I interpret it that there are holo-generators and now, with new holo-projectors installed on the outer hull, the generators might be too weak to support them all. – The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kennelly (talk • contribs)

It might be necessary to rewrite or complete this article before anything is decided. The very fact that the first sentence says that "A hologenerator was a type of holographic generator used to create holographic imagery," should tell us that hologenerator and holographic generator are the same thing. As far as the 'create holographic imagery', that may be true and accurate to this term, but it it one thing to create it, it's another thing to 'project' it, as a holoprojector would do. --Alan (talk) 16:15, February 21, 2019 (UTC)

I'm not quite sure where this would go, but it definitely deserves a mention somewhere:

La Forge: "...a reactor capable of producing 4.2 gigawatts."
Riker: "Enough to power a small phaser bank, or a subspace relay station, or..."

I don't believe the Holo-imager should be merged in. It specifically records a 3D scene. It doesn't create them. Thebilldude (talk) 16:38, February 4, 2018 (UTC)
