Spelling

I understand that what's on screen or other authoritative production is what we go by in terms of the creation of articles. Well and good, but "humoral socket" [1] seems wrong in this context; it's "humeral", as in relating to the humerus. Was I right to make the amendment? Also I’m tremulously certain that "gleniod" is accurate from I've googled, but if anyone’s more sure pls let me know or amend--Archer4real 14:34, June 14, 2012 (UTC)

Our practice normally is to use the script spelling where possible, unless the spelling was depicted on screen. In this case, this article probably should be spelled how it is in the script, with a background note to the wikipedia article explaining that is the proper spelling. However, it might have been spelled that way to aid in pronunciation, so I'm not entirely sure how to proceed here. I'd probably favor the script spelling, but I won't fight to the death over it. :) 31dot 01:48, June 15, 2012 (UTC)
Though i respect the script writers for what they wrote, they shouldn't be treated as if they wrote they holy gospel and are completely infallable. The correct spelling should be used, with a note marking the incorrect script spelling. --Alan (talk) 00:36, February 15, 2019 (UTC)
