Independence Day movie[]

That second part of the article, about the Independence Day movie, doesn't seem like it deserves inclusion. It's a completely different subject that just happens to share a name with the holiday. And there's nothing about the movie Independence Day that makes it notable for or purposes. It doesn't even reference Star Trek, which at least would have make it eligible for a Star Trek parodies and pop culture references entry. Imagine if the page Eulogy featured a background note mentioning that Rene Auberjonois was once in a movie called Eulogy - that just isn't relevant. -- Capricorn (talk) 09:51, June 29, 2018 (UTC)

Since there were no contrary opinions, I've removed the section. It's preserved below: -- Capricorn (talk) 09:30, August 28, 2018 (UTC)

Independence Day is also the name of a film which both Brent Spiner and POP Film and POP Animation worked on. (Star Trek: First Contact - Handbook of Production Information, Star Trek Nemesis - Handbook of Production Information) The movie also featured Star Trek performers Erick Avari, Tim Kelleher, Carlos LaCamara, Randy Nolen, Frank Novak, Randy Oglesby, Leland Orser, Robert Pine, Raphael Sbarge, and Bill Smitrovich. A sequel, the movie Independence Day: Resurgence, featured not only an expanded role for Spiner, but also the work of Stunt Coordinator John Stoneham, Jr..
