I don't have star charts, but who mentioned this information was in Keiko's schoolroom-- are the tribbles mentioned in that context also? If the tribbles note is from a canon background graphic it can stay but if it is solely from Star Charts it must go (into a non-canon background note). -- Captain Mike K. What happened is that the entire article was off topic. The stellar makeup of the star named Iota Geminorum should be at that article-- Iota Geminorum IV is a planet .. not a star.. Also, since this article is about the fourth planet, information about the first second and third planet doesnt belong here either.

Finally, none of the information in this article seemed to be canon -- that is, none of it was ever on Star Trek. Only information that was part of the graphich seen on the actual set of the show is allowable, any information which was devised solely for the non-canon "Star Charts" is irrelevant, and should not be included in the body of the article, but may be relegated to a background note. Any further inoformation added should also have a reference (whichever episode it was from for article body material or whatever book it was derived from, if it is a background note)-- Captain Mike K. Iota Geminorum IV appeared on a chart in Keiko's classroom on DS9, so it is not non canon, but I agree that the current information is not suitable for the article; vote: rewrite -- Kobi 12:35, 7 Jan 2005 (CET)

Final thoughts

Iota Geminorum IV and the link to the tribbles originated in the Starfleet Medical Reference Manual, waaay back in 1977. As is the case with fandom, many sources maintained this notion, as there was little reason to change it. For some reason, the DS9 art department used several pages of this old book in the dressing of Keiko's classroom. The Pyris VII creatures, the Regulan bloodworm and others were okudagramized, bringing some really old fandom into the canon. -- Harry 12:19, 13 Jan 2005 (CET)
