Saving for posterity[]

While I was married to Doris, my friend Gene Coon, co-producer of Star Trek, and his wife, Joy, came over to visit me. During their visit, Gene asked me if I would like to put on a space suit the next week, and that’s how I got the role of Elliott on The Doomsday Machine episode of Star Trek. Gene Roddenberry and Gene Coon were the producers of of the Star Trek series. Whenever Gene and Joy had a reception in their home, I was always invited. As I entered, both would greet me with a hug. They seemed to be a perfect couple. I thought their marriage would last forever, but it didn’t. Soon my life headed in different direction, and I lost contact with them. Years later, I heard that Gene became interested in another woman. I believe that the stress of finding this out caused Joy to get cancer, and she was hospitalized. I was told that Joy refused to let Gene visit her, and that he was so emotionally devastated by her rejection that he got lung cancer. Both died with cancer before reaching the age of fifty.

This is the only relevant post from his blog. It seemed like not a bad idea to save this here. [1]--Gvsualan (talk) 04:11, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
