Surrogate mother?[]

Although I have not seen the episode, I know there must be a REASON Kira became a surrogate mother. Anyone mind posting why that is in the article? --The Rev 01:26, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

Kira Nerys and Keiko O'Brien were involved in a Runabout accident. Keiko was critically injured, necessitating a transfer of the fetus of her unborn child to an undamaged womb – namely, Kira's. Um, feel free to reword that and add it to the article, I'm too tired myself. --From Andoria with Love 06:00, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

Naming[]

I removed this line from the article: "(Note: Yoshi was probably named after Keiko's father as well, who is mentioned as having the same name when the couple were considering baby names before Molly was born in 2368.)" At the beginning of "Disaster", which is most likely what this line was referring to, Keiko complains that she thought that she and Miles had decided to name their unborn child "Hiro, after my father". Hiro, not Yoshi. -- Defstar 21:37, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Is there any info about who "played" this character?[]

Unisex name?[]

Can anyone actually verify the claim that "Kira is a unisex Japanese name on its own."? I've done some searching but can only find "Kira" in reference to other languages. Incidentally I found out that "Keiko" means "Adored one." Thrashercub 11:33, 19 November 2008 (UTC)

"Presumably" named after Kira?[]

There's a bg note in the article that states:

Kirayoshi was presumably named partly after his surrogate mother, Kira Nerys.

I thought it was explicitly stated in canon that he was named after her? Why is the background note required? Or have I missed something? --| TrekFan Open a channel 03:37, March 23, 2014 (UTC)

I actually don't recall it being specifically stated, even if it seems likely. 31dot (talk) 09:51, March 23, 2014 (UTC)
