IIRC, Batel created an alternate timeline in which she and Pike could have a life together. Much like Q did with Picard in "Tapestry". For me, I don't see the need for caution.Memphis77 (talk) 05:03, 12 September 2025 (UTC)

Pike couldn't tell that the alternate future wasn't real. That wouldn't work if the name of the ship was different. -- UncertainError (talk) 05:26, 12 September 2025 (UTC)

Agreed. He knew that the assignment was coming, and that the Lucas' three month expedition would be *that* assignment. There was even a mention of "but you come back a month early". --WTRiker (talk) 07:35, 12 September 2025 (UTC)
