From Talk:Medical ship Edit

I would suggest merging this with hospital ship, given that this is linked to from the "Cold Station 12" page, but that is merely a redirect to "Federation hospital ship", which any ship in CS12 would not be. Would need to know more about the reference. -- 31dot 03:51, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

There's no indication that the Denobulan medical ship that this likely refers to is a hospital ship, indeed, the size, capabilities and description alone suggest that it's little more than a transport. Probably just merge it into the former article. -- Alan 04:04, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

I support that idea. -- 31dot 04:24, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

The Nightingale and USS Pasteur were also referred to as "medical ships" (in addition to the Denobulan one). The Nightingale and USS Fleming were referred to as medical transports, and additionally, hospital ship was applied to both Federation hospital ship and Hospital Ship 4-2. -- Alan 13:02, 23 December 2008 (UTC)

Redirect? Edit

I've noticed that several articles link to "hospital ship". Would anyone be opposed to a redirect from here? -- Excelsior 17:48, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

Olympic class Edit

Accord to the article text I removed:

"During the 24th century, Olympic-class starships were designated as hospital ships. (TNG: "All Good Things...")"

Now, the Pasteur was referred to as "a medical ship on a mission of mercy...", I'm not sure that should be interpreted as being a hospital ship-- for all we know it could have been a "medical transport" like a similarly named (think runabout naming scheme) USS Fleming. -- Alan del Beccio 21:35, 12 January 2007 (UTC)

Yes, I'm perfectly aware of that article, I wrote a good majority of it, what is your point exactly? -- Alan 02:00, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

Hospital ship v Federation hospital ship Edit

So... what's the point of having this as separate from "Hospital ship"? There appears to be no real separation, and perhaps this should be merged over there. -- sulfur 19:08, December 17, 2010 (UTC)

Merge suggestion Edit

I propose a merge with "hospital ship" as what little on this page is already mentioned on the other page. Having "federation" in front of it, is only a qualifier or identifier, not a reason to warrant a separate page. We don't have a page for "Federation humans" for example. Judging from Sulfur's comment above, I seen to have one vote in favor already.:) -- Sennim (talk) 11:52, November 7, 2015 (UTC)
