Cut Sentence Edit
The real Mintaka system (consisting of four stars) is in fact much closer, approximately 916 light years from the Sol system, and makes up the western part of the belt in the constellation Orion.
There is no canon support for the system in which Mintaka III is located in being the same system as its real world counterpart. This might be a case of Rigel (Star Trek) vs Rigel (Real World).--Memphis77 (talk) 07:55, February 28, 2016 (UTC)
- No canon support, no, but the bit you've cut related to StarTrek.com making the link. StarTrek.com is clearly talking about the real star (it gives the bayer designation), it just has badly outdated info. Consequently, I think you cut exactly the wrong half of the note: given that StarTrek.com makes the link to the real star that star might be mentioned in a note, but on the other hand the StarTrek.com data on the star is not that useful for inclusion because it just consists of factually wrong real world info. I'll attempt a new note. (personal note: I hope this makes enough sense to you, if not, post and we'll talk) -- Capricorn (talk) 11:58, February 28, 2016 (UTC)
