The Osler seemed to use something other than standard warp travel. It traveled via some sort of purple vortex that looked more like a Subspace vortex or Transwarp conduit than conventional warp.

Don't remember this being established, and its prose is hardly encyclopedic. --Alan (talk) 12:41, October 1, 2020 (UTC)

Agree, I thought the ship was just traveling through a nebula or something similar. 31dot (talk) 13:17, October 1, 2020 (UTC)
That's what I thought the first time too... then I realized they made a big deal of showing Osler emerge from the center of the vortex, then fly back down the center. I didn't really think about it until I saw the scene mid-flight where they show that Osler is STILL inside the vortex. It doesn't make sense for it to STILL be inside a nebula. They literally never show Osler without the cloud effect until it's landed on the Farm. Also they stated that Osler had been away from the Farm for months. It doesn't make sense for the Cerritos to do a handoff if they're a few hours from the Farm. Yeah I know "original research", but it was a conclusion that made sense to me.--Marhawkman (talk) 19:08, October 9, 2020 (UTC)
It's most likely part of whatever they were referencing, my money is on a black ship from Warhammer 40K, or just the overall spookinessof the ship. That said, for all we know someone onboard needed them to stop in nebulae every now and then. - Archduk3 19:43, October 9, 2020 (UTC)
true, it does see to be a design choice based on aesthetics, but from an in-universe PoV it's probably not just cosmetic. Also the way the show is written everything we see on-screen is something in-universe. nothing, even weird sight gags, is treated as if it doesn't exist in-universe. --Marhawkman (talk) 10:06, October 10, 2020 (UTC)
