Changelings[]
- A Changeling can only remain in solid form for sixteen uninterrupted hours, at which time they must revert to a "gelatinous" state. (DS9: "The Forsaken")
- Failure to do this can lead to damage to their morphogenic matrix which manifests as discoloration and "flaking off" of mass. (DS9: "The Die is Cast")
I would venture to say that only Odo has this restriction since the female changeling has never stated that she must revert. And since espionage was a big part of the Founders being forced into that restriction would make it a lot harder. Of course, I'm speculating, but it seems that we just don't have enough information. — Morder 20:29, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- True, it's only been stated that Odo must revert every sixteen hours, but we do see the effect of the changeling virus on the female changeling and her subsequent 'flaking'. She states she has been unable to revert to a liquid state, which would lead us to believe that her flaking results from a lack of regenerating. --AnonyQ 07:30, 25 December 2008 (UTC)
