Terminology[]

The Mars Defense Perimeter vessels were never described as "sentry pods" in the episode and it's speculation to describe them as such. Thinking that they look like pods isn't good enough. -- UncertainError (talk) 00:44, 14 July 2022 (UTC)

The script of the episode describes the Mars Defense Perimeter vessels as "unmanned pods", but yes the word sentry was never used in the Best of Both Worlds episode. But if you are this much concerned about semantics, then I suggest you open Oxford Dictionary, which defines Sentry as 1) "A soldier stationed to keep guard or to control access to a place" or 2) "keep guard or control access to a place". But that's not their official terminology in the sense of the show. "Unmanned pod" would be a far better place for those MDP vessels. Or even "MDP pod". They're not the same thing as the other sentry pods described here. -- Sulfur (talk) 21:03, 20 July 2022 (UTC)

What about renaming this page to Attack pods? Or even Unmanned attack pods? Or make an entirely different page called Martian defense pods or something-- Parakeet3900

Or maybe we don't actually need to draw an artificial connection between Lysian sentry pods and the Martian Defense Perimeter. And let me remind you that background sources can only be used on MA for naming what would otherwise be unnamed articles. Which means that this information about the MDP being "unmanned pods" is not canon. -- UncertainError (talk) 22:38, 20 July 2022 (UTC)
