If the Treaty of Sirius was only "apparently" signed at Sirius IX, shouldn't this info be moved to Sirius system rather than assuming which planet concerns the treaty?

No, the connection appears to made here based on the common name "Sirius" between the two references/episodes. --Alan del Beccio 04:24, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

In 2293, the location of Sirius in the Milky Way Galaxy was labeled in a star chart that was in Captain James T. Kirk's quarters aboard the USS Enterprise-A. (Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, production art)

In 2364, the location of Sirius was labeled on a star chart of the stellar neighborhood with Sol as the center. This chart was filed in the USS Enterprise-D library computer. (TNG: "The Naked Now", display graphic)

The star chart showed Earth commercial and exploration routes after the use of warp drive began. Sirius A was a destination on an exploration route. The chart was originally a drawing by Rick Sternbach that had been previously published in 1979 on page 77.

According to Star Trek: Star Charts (pgs. 45, "United Federation of Planets I"), in 2378, Sirius IX was a Federation member. The planet was located in the Beta Quadrant.

Alpha Quadrant[]

In "In the Pale Moonlight", Alpha Centauri is identified as an Alpha Quadrant system. Sirius is located in the same region as Alpha Centauri (and Sol). This is why I placed this planet and its system in the Alpha Quadrant.Throwback (talk) 06:43, July 21, 2014 (UTC)
