Nitpick[]
- One of the wide angle shots on the Enterprise bridge shows Mr. Spock working at his station, although he was kidnapped and being held captive on the planet's surface by the Phylosians!
This is because they recycled footage, not something that needs to be viewed as having been something done on purpose, but rather as an oversight. --Alan del Beccio 16:17, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
- Perhaps it can be re-added as a note that it was reused footage? Just throwing that out there. --OuroborosCobra talk 16:22, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
- Well, it is probably more relevant on the TAS page, since I am pretty sure they reused footage in every episode, and know for a fact that several of the appearances made by Arex and M'Ress were in these type of recycled shots. Overall, it is nothing unusual, considering TNG, VOY and DS9 did it every episode too. --Alan del Beccio 16:28, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

Speculation[]
- McCoy's lines, "something's happened to his brain," and "his mind is gone," are references to "Spock's Brain". Both episodes share similar plots, as well.
I would like to see a cite on this, as it seems a bit of a stretch without one. - Archduk3 07:15, August 20, 2010 (UTC)
More nitpick[]
- In a production inconsistency, when Kirk, McCoy, and Sulu beam back down to Phylos to rescue Spock, Kirk and McCoy are wearing life-support belts which disappear in subsequent scenes.
