Nice, but information available on wikipedia and in no way important for the MA article.

Properly called a vacuum flask or (in honor of Sir James Dewar, who constructed one of the earliest prototypes of this type of container) a Dewar bottle, the thermos is so called because of the Thermos Company, which still markets it extensively (and has trademarked the name) as of 2017.
