Could this be Theta VII? maybe misread? --TOSrules 00:46, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
My personal thoughts
I disagree with Pseudohuman's assertion that this planet was in the Theta ii6 system. He argues, "I'm pretty sure there is no problem with the producers inventing the name of the system after they invent the name of a planet in the system."
I think that this planet could either be (a.) Mr. Okuda misremembering Delta Theta VII, or (b.) that this world was in the same system as Theta VII. I opted for option b. I never thought this planet was in the Theta 116 system. I am working through the episode "The Royale". This episode established that the Theta 116 system was unmapped. The map was of worlds that had been mapped prior to 2293, when the chart was first seen chronologically. For me, this was further evidence that Theta III shouldn't be located in the Theta 116 system.
These are my thoughts on this issue. I will not change it back to what I believe. If I do that, I feel that it could lead to an editing war. To that, I say, No thanks. Throwback (talk) 03:25, August 23, 2012 (UTC)
- It's not a map of "worlds that have been mapped", its a map of the region of the galaxy that has been explored, the map even has stars and planets labeled that dont exist anymore, such as Beta Niobe and Fabrina. My rationale is that if there is a planet called Theta VIII and a planet called Theta III, I would assume they are in the same system, based on the precedence that we do that in MA, as long as there is no reason to assume they are not, or should we start to treat every planet mentioned to be in different systems if it is not explicitly stated that they are in the same system. Is Orion I and Orion III in the same system for example? there would be dozens and dozens of pages we would have to modify. I do realize that it is possible that Sarpeid is an alternative name for Sarpeidon and Theta III is an alternative name for Delta Theta III, but since we dont have a citable statement from Okuda, I would not speculate that. --Pseudohuman (talk) 04:12, August 23, 2012 (UTC)
