What might have been[]
When watching the episode for the first time, I half expected it to be revealed at the end that "Code 14" meant "beam this up and create small, harmless fireworks at its location" - as shown by Riker casually handing Picard the not-actually-destroyed Tox Utaht and wondering why all the fuss over a "trinket." It seemed in keeping with the tone of the episode to have Picard put one over on Vash, the time travellers, and the historical record. -- StClair 20:41, February 4, 2011 (UTC)
- Play Star Trek Online. In one mission, you go in search of the Tox Utaht through time. It ends up in a Starfleet research centre. It's implied that your idea is the actual code (it's non canon, but quite nice). Klingondragon (talk) 12:56, April 17, 2017 (UTC)
Change page name and add?[]
There's one other reference to transporter codes in DS9: "Return to Grace". I suggest the page be renamed Transporter code with a subsection for code 14. --LauraCC (talk) 15:02, July 17, 2015 (UTC)
- There's a ref in Kir'Shara too. The problem though is that while the name is similar, these references seem to be about a fundamentally different concept : Transporter Code 14 is a procedure that can be done using a transporter, while the other transporter codes seem to be like passwords or encryption codes needed to acces a transporter stream. -- Capricorn (talk) 02:44, July 18, 2015 (UTC)
