I removed the following text:

The purpose of the many settings and controls on the transporter console are as mysterious as the mechanism behind the transporter itself.

While accurate enough I suppose, it's not really informative for an encyclopedic type article.Capt Christopher Donovan 18:47, September 4, 2010 (UTC)

Agreed. Ir isn't as if we know the purpose of most of the settings or controls on the helm console, or any other console. --OuroborosCobra talk 19:13, September 4, 2010 (UTC)
The only consoles we have any idea about are the bridge consoles from the early movies, and that only from production materials (the designers wrote a sort of "flight manual" for the actors). Not that that pertains to this case.Capt Christopher Donovan 19:35, September 4, 2010 (UTC)

Needs citation[]

During the making of both the original pilot "The Cage" and the second pilot "Where No Man Has Gone Before", Star Trek's production personnel reused the bridge helm console as the transporter console.

This has been marked as needing citation for nearly nine years. If a citation is found, it can be re-added.--Cleanse ( talk ) 06:51, April 10, 2020 (UTC)
