Class Connections[]

Would it be important to note that (so far) all the shuttles are named for places in California, the ship is named after a city in California, that the Captain also has a California flag in her Ready Room, all coming to the fact the class is named California? --Tuskin38 (talk) 22:00, August 7, 2020 (UTC)

Adding the protagonists[]

In the interests of being easier to navigate, could we add the four protagonists under "USS Cerritos personnel"? I realize we wouldn't normally do that for the likes of reoccurring guest stars, but Lower Decks isn't a normal Star Trek show. --DaWooster (talk) 16:13, August 9, 2020 (UTC)

I second this --Tuskin38 (talk) 16:29, August 9, 2020 (UTC)

Avoiding Romulan/Borg conflict section[]

Uh, are opening credits considered canon? If we're including this here we will have to do that with every ship that appears in an opening sequence in the other series...--Tuskin38 (talk) 22:36, August 24, 2020 (UTC)

Opening credits are "canon," and we already do unless we missed something. - Archduk3 00:00, August 25, 2020 (UTC)
See OV-165 and SS Emmette. Most opening credits are either non-specific ("the Enterprise warps past a planet!") or figurative (the Picard titles; we’re not saying that Jean-Luc Picard was assembled from fragments of the remains of the planet Romulus). But when there are more specific events that we can treat as a representation of something literal, we do. —Josiah Rowe (talk) 14:29, August 25, 2020 (UTC)

Wow I had a major brain fart there, sorry --Tuskin38 (talk) 15:02, August 25, 2020 (UTC)

No problem. Happens to us all — to me on a daily basis! —Josiah Rowe (talk) 16:13, August 25, 2020 (UTC)
...although upon reflection, I suppose that we should probably also note the undated events in which the Cerritos was pulled into the accretion disk of a black hole, had a massive firefly-like creature attach itself to its warp nacelles, and so forth.
To that end, does anybody know exactly what the ice-like structure the Cerritos bumps into in the opening credits is? —Josiah Rowe (talk) 18:12, August 25, 2020 (UTC)
I'm surprisingly coming up with very little on what that ice is called. It resembles a penitente, but those typically involve snow. Ice stalagmites are a thing, except this isn't a cave setting. Another is an ice spike, but that doesn't really fit either. I'm coming to the conclusion that the ice the Cerritos collided with isn't a natural occurrence on Earth. If we were to go instead by mountain formations I'd lean to call it an ice spire.--DaWooster (talk) 02:40, August 26, 2020 (UTC)

Should the “early encounters” section be something like “undated encounters”?[]

there is no confermation on when any of this happened that im aware of The preceding unsigned comment was added by DogsRNice (talkcontribs) at 02:54, 6 October 2021‎.

That's possibly a fair point. We assumed that the "events" in the title sequence must have occurred before "Second Contact", but I'm not sure whether that's necessarily so. The reworking of the titles for Season 2 with the new Cerritos model complicates things too: do we assume that the same events happened twice (as we do with the Borg/Romulan battle with the added Pakled and Klingon ships), or is it more like the situation with TOS and TOS-R, with the same event being depicted in more "accurate" detail? —Josiah Rowe (talk) 03:10, 6 October 2021 (UTC)
maybe we just leave the edited version of the event off and keep what's already there? It would seem silly to try to include both on the page, but with the second season well past being finished I'd like to add the events of it since the last part is about it's repairs from season 1 and I don't know how/where to include this. — Forgottrek (talk) 17:48, 7 March 2022 (UTC)

Why are the credits sequence events even in here?[]

At the risk of being a bit brusque, it seems more than slightly absurd to include the maladies that befall the Cerritos here like they're real events. It's nothing more, and nothing less, than a send-up of the majestic fly-by credit sequences of yesteryear. I don't think it's sensible to include mention of the Enterprises repeatedly warping past the same precise point in space during the credits sequences of TOS or TNG, nor Voyager's flight through nebulae and asteroid fields in the titles to VOY. Doogie2K (talk) 21:20, 7 November 2022 (UTC)

Was it more implied that these things happened than in previous shows' opening credits? Maybe move to a background note...LauraCC (talk) 21:22, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
Thanks for the input. It will be filed away with all the other insufficiently researched complaints that have previously lodged. –Gvsualan (talk) 23:23, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
Another point about the opening – Surely if the opening for all 3 seasons had canonically occured prior to episode 1, they would already know about pakled clumpships? The preceding unsigned comment was added by Moreorlesser (talkcontribs).
It doesn't need to make sense. They keep adding to it each season, so each addition would be an extension of the previous. –Gvsualan (talk) 11:35, 23 May 2023 (UTC)
