:While this is fascinating, and ''could'' be correct, without a reference it's just speculation, which should not be in article. It will however be kept here, just in case someone could cite this as being intentional. - {{User:Archduk3/Sig/nature}} 09:23, March 17, 2010 (UTC)

AGER-2

The previous entry suggested the name "USS Pueblo" referred to a Native American group in the Southwestern United States on Earth. The context of its use in the episode suggests that it more likely was named after the captive US Navy vessel of the same name which was itself named for a US county in the State of Colorado, following the naming conventions for that class of ship. --TRHickey 08:52, March 17, 2010 (UTC)

It was most likely named for the USS Pueblo (AGER-2), a United States Navy Banner-class technical research ship on Earth named for Pueblo County, Colorado. The Pueblo was alledgedly collecting electronic signal intelligence off the coast of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) when it was boarded and captured on January 23, 1968. It is currently located in Pyongyang and remains the only commissioned US Navy vessel held captive in enemy hands.

While this is fascinating, and could be correct, without a reference it's just speculation, which should not be in article. It will however be kept here, just in case someone could cite this as being intentional. - Archduk3 09:23, March 17, 2010 (UTC)
