Mirror counterpart[]
So I'm bringing this up here since it involves the rational on how we got this named, and this discussion can be moved if needed. I set this and the Emmette-type page up to cover the mirror counterpart to this ship without naming it, with this page covering the info in the bg since this ship is not that ship in universe. That said, I doubt any changes were made to the ships model file, so it is likely the ship seen in the mirror universe opening was the SS Emmette file, even though we know it's not the SS Emmette in that universe. Now I already have a link at the type page commented out for an ISS Emmette for the counterpart, but that's stretching the naming convention a bit to far for me to feel comfortable doing it without bringing it up for discussion first.
So in short, are we all cool with an ISS Emmette page, or is the current set up the way we want to go? - Archduk3 01:30, September 1, 2011 (UTC)
- "Unnamed Emmette type starships#Lunar colony assault" would be the least speculative way to go... --Pseudohuman 05:04, September 1, 2011 (UTC)
- I agree with Pseudohuman. I think it's a bit of a stretch to not only call it the Emmette but to also assign it an ISS prefix when neither were mentioned in canon. --| TrekFan Open a channel 09:37, September 1, 2011 (UTC)

This is obviously a 9 year old discussion but if anyone sees this how does Emmette (mirror) sound? It does seem unreasonable to assume it's name is the ISS Emmette especially since we only know ISS is the standard for the counterparts of ships with the prefix USS. However, I don't think it's unreasonable to assume this is the mirror universe counterpart of the Emmette. --Hurrah123456 (talk) 02:42, September 6, 2020 (UTC)
- Well, you're wrong about ISS only mirroring USS, so the suggestion kinda starts falling apart from the jump. - Archduk3 05:58, September 6, 2020 (UTC)
- Well, I think the general idea is that if a ship recognized as the Emmette was depicted in a particular opening shot of ENT, then "mirrored" in an alternate opening shot of ENT, then the ship name, too, without taking as much as a shuffle step of logic to recognize the mirroring of the scene, to connect the two ships as each other's counterpart. DIS seemed to really pound home how easily the mu tends to find a way to do that. --Alan (talk) 14:25, September 6, 2020 (UTC)
- I'm all for ISS Emmette, since all Terran ships we have a name for use that prefix. That said, the current arrangement is better IMO than dropping the prefix or just using the SS one, since the former is ignoring all the others and the latter is "inventing" a prefix for the mirror universe. - Archduk3 17:25, September 6, 2020 (UTC)
Alternatively, we could simply put
or something of that nature on the SS Emmette page. That would mean it is the counterpart (which is reasonable to assume) but not necessarily named SS Emmette or ISS Emmette. --Hurrah123456 (talk) 00:23, September 7, 2020 (UTC)
