Rediect?[]
Why is the link for Washington a redirect to the District of Columbia. Washington is a state, Washington is a TOWN in the District of Columbia.

Survived to Enterprise?[]
Does anyone know if it's been revealed one way or the other if Washington survived up until the time of Enterprise? I was under the impression that the city had been destroyed at some point.

- There is scant Information on the existence of DC in the 22nd Century or beyond. Same goes for NYC. I have to assume that those cities were destroyed in WW3. We never (or hardly) hear about them in canon, so such cities are insignificant in the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th Centuries.

- But, when you think about it, aside from San Francisco and New Orleans - two cities which we have seen could easily be wiped away by Mother Nature long before nukes get the chance - how many significant US (and global) cities have gotten any real confirmation of their existence other than being mentioned in passing? Washington was built specifically to be the capital city - I think the far more likely explanation is that, since the US, if it still exists (and I think it does), is basically is a local government, so DC is not nearly as significant as it once was.
- It is possible that Phoenix is actually housed at the Smithsonian's Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia, some 27 miles outside of Washington.
- No, I imagine it's at Air & Space itself - living in Northern Virginia, less than 10 miles from the Smithsonian, White House, etc., I never miss an opportunity to go there (I still remember the first time I saw the Enterprise model, and what a shock it was to see that one side is pretty much bare) - I don't think the Phoenix is any bigger than the LEM, U2, and most of the other things hanging in the museum.--Ten-pint 21:45, November 1, 2009 (UTC)
- What part of the Smithsonian it is in is speculation- I have removed the line as such- all we know is it is at the Smithsonian somewhere.--31dot 21:56, November 1, 2009 (UTC)
- Another argument for the city's survival: While there are or have been over 100 of them, I'm about 90% certain that the "Union Station" Hoshi referred to in Shadows of P'Jem is the one here.--Ten-pint 17:39, December 11, 2009 (UTC)
Rename to 'D.C.'?[]
Why was this done? We don't use 'U.S.S.' in names, so why 'D.C.' rather than 'DC'? -- sulfur (talk) 05:36, February 24, 2018 (UTC)
- I was correcting the spelling to what is used in real life. In real life, ships are called USS as well, so that one would already make sense. Roger Murtaugh (talk) 05:52, February 24, 2018 (UTC)
