Red Bird = Real bird?

Is this really accurate? I don't think it was confirmed that the red bird was an actual animal on an 11-year trek or something, merely that the guy had seen 42 years of the red bird, implying a system not unlike the chinese zodiac. -- Capricorn (talk) 05:02, October 16, 2012 (UTC)

I agree, Ronald Tracey says "their year of the red bird comes once every eleven years". So it should be merged with Year of the Red Bird. Kennelly (talk) 18:29, January 13, 2016 (UTC)
