For the similarly named humanoid, please see Talura.

Talur was a female Barkonian in the 24th century. She was a teacher and scientist in her village on Barkon IV.

Talur was an objective and rational person, but she was prone to leaps of logic based on little or no evidence. When Lieutenant Commander Data was sent to retrieve fragments of a crashed Federation probe from Barkon IV in 2370, Talur argued that his unusual appearance meant he was an ice-man from the Vellorian Mountains to the north, and that his great strength was a natural response to the predators of that region. This was despite the fact that she had never been to the north and had no knowledge that predators such as she described even existed in that region.

She also believed and taught to the village children that rock, fire, sky, and water were the basic elements of the universe. When confronted or questioned about these beliefs, she would become defensive. (TNG: "Thine Own Self")

Talur was played by Ronnie Claire Edwards.

Her costume was later sold off on the It's A Wrap! sale and auction on eBay. [1](X)
