A tank was a type of fighting land vehicle, typically fully tracked. Consisting of heavy armor and a large cannon, a tank was often a critical part of a land battle.
The Germans were known for their Panzer (German for "armor") tank divisions during World War II. (VOY: "The Killing Game")
In an alternate World War II where the Germans occupied the Eastern United States of America, Alicia Travers mentioned to Captain Jonathan Archer in 1944, that people had fled Manhattan, New York City, as tanks rolled up Flatbush Avenue, eventually spreading into Manhattan. A modulating plasma pulse brought to that time from the future by the Na'kuhl, was capable of destroying a Panzer IV tank. Additionally, two German Jagdtigers were seen parked on the lawn in front of the White House. (ENT: "Storm Front")
Several Renault FT tanks in action during World War 1 were shown in the time stream as it reset, as were a group of Chinese tanks advancing on a protesting person on Tiananmen Square. (ENT: "Storm Front, Part II")
On the planet Ekos, the Ekosian Wehrmacht also used tanks for warfare against the Zeons, who were the victims of prejudice on that world, since they were colonists from the planet Zeon. (TOS: "Patterns of Force")
In the mirror universe, at least three different types of tanks were used on Earth during that planet's 20th century. (ENT: "In a Mirror, Darkly" opening credits)
