For the United Earth agency, please see Telemetry (agency).

Telemetry is a technological process which involves tracking objects, compiling data on them and sending that data to a remote source.

The telemetry of the NASA spaceship Charybdis failed on February 7, 2038. As a result, the vessel was believed to have been lost. It was found in 2365 that the ship had been swept out of the solar system by an alien force. (TNG: "The Royale")

In 2258 of the alternate reality, Spock was able to confirm Pavel Chekov's telemetry, which indicated a possible way to sneak up on Nero and the Narada by dropping out of warp behind Titan. (Star Trek)
