Usage
This template is used to link to YouTube website entries. Variables are required giving the end path to the article in question, and a third variable can be used to alter the linking text.
If no variables are given, the link will go to the main webpage, such as:

Which would produce:
There are four types of YouTube links:
- video
- playlist
- user
- channel
To access these, the type tag needs to be defined. It can use the full word or simply the first letter, such as:
{{YouTube|type=v|JY5Ls6F0Xik}}
This would link to the "STAR TREK 3.5 & 3.6 VHS Intros" video such as:
If text is desired, such as "VHS Intro", the following format should be used:
{{YouTube|type=v|JY5Ls6F0Xik|VHS Intro}}
This would produce:
If you wish the link to be formatted as an external link, for example on the Star Trek: The Original Series (VHS) page, the following format should be used:
{{YouTube|type=v|JY5Ls6F0Xik||external}}

If you wish the external link to display different text, the following format should be used:

To start a video at a specific time, use the 'time' variable with the time in minutes and seconds or just a number as seconds, such as (with minutes and seconds):
