Yeoman Teresa Ross was a female Human Starfleet enlisted crewmember in the 23rd century.

Ross served in the operations division aboard the USS Enterprise in 2267 under the command of Captain James T. Kirk, during a historic five-year mission that the starship undertook.

That same year, Ross was among multiple crewmembers Trelane transported to Gothos for his own amusement, and he took a particular interest in her. He even transformed her red Starfleet uniform into a beautiful floor-length 18th-century dancing gown and made her his dance partner.

All the fuss over Ross gave Kirk the opportunity to take advantage of Trelane, enabling the Enterprise crew to eventually escape. Back on the Enterprise, she was happy to change back into her normal uniform after Kirk said to her "Turn in your glass slippers. The ball is over." (TOS: "The Squire of Gothos")

Appendices[]

Background information[]

Teresa Ross was played by Venita Wolf.

This role was originally, as evidenced by the writer's first draft script of "The Squire of Gothos", to have been an appearance of Yeoman Janice Rand; it was rewritten to be the introduction of then-new character Yeoman Teresa Ross by the time the first draft of the teleplay was issued, since Grace Lee Whitney had left the series by that point.

Apocrypha[]

In the novel Ex Machina, the chief named Ross in Star Trek: The Motion Picture was given the first name "Theresa", in honor of her portrayer, actress Terrence O'Connor. This was a coincidence and she was not intended to be the same character (note the different spellings).
